Where are The Falkland Islands ?
A message from Kirsten Orsborn
As the Royal Marines Forces Sweetheart of Swansea, I have been invited to travel to The Falklands to perform for the soldiers and their families September this year. 2017 is the 35 year anniversary of The Falklands War which makes my trip even more special to the people of the island.
During my stay there, they would like me to make a few performances, one being at MPA ( British Forces South Atlantic Islands, Mount Pleasant Airport/Complex ) and in Stanley for the soldiers and their families of approximatley 3000 troops, and equal amount of civilians, and also visit the only school on the island of 600 children. I will also be visiting the Royal Marines Memorial in Stanley amongst many others.
Our wish is to take a serving veteran and former servicemen with us to revisit the island! We would also like to document the trip to show all of my performances and to talk to the veterans and their families about their life in the Falklands.
I will be staying at The Liberty Lodge which is run by SAMA (South Atlantic Medal Association) that work solely on a donations basis, thanks to SAMA's work families of servicemen and women are able to visit the island and stay at Liberty Lodge.
With your help we would like to raise enough funds to donate to SAMA ( South Atlantic Medal Association ) as well as donating to The Liberty Lodge Charity!
This is our small way of thanking our troops for helping to keep us safe everyday!
I have set an initial target of £1,000 but we hope with your help to achieve that and more.
In advance I would like to thank you all so much for your kind support! I am truly honoured to be invited to perform in The Falkland Islands, and with your help we can make this possible whilst helping/supporting the Island too!

Liberty Lodge in Stanley ( The Falkland Islands )
Liberty Lodge was opened in February 2009 to provide accommodation for veterans of the Falkland's conflict visiting the Islands. The Royal British Legion contributed £90000 towards the construction of the Lodge. The Falklands Veterans Foundation manage the continued financing of the Lodge by securing charitable donations from many sources. It is free to stay at the Lodge although donations made at the end of any stay to assist with running costs are appreciated. You can book a stay at the Lodge, on a first-come first-served basis,
Serving Personnel from Mount Pleasant and their families may also use the Lodge if there is spare room although visiting veterans always take priority.
Kirsten will be Performing at this Event on 28th July 2017 to Raise Funds for The Falklands Charities
